How the Media got it 100% wrong… AGAIN.

If you don’t follow Cornell Law Professor William A. Jacobson’s blog, Le•gal In•sur•rec•tion, please consider doing so today.

Jacobson has an alarmingly revealing post (complete with videos), which details the Leftist Media’s pathological insistence on framing every potential crazed killer/shooter/bomber/terrorist as “Right Wing”.

Here’s just a taste:

It started with Bill Sparkman, the part-time Census worker who went missing and then was found dead, setting off an avalanche of mainstream media and left-blogosphere accusations that he was the victim of anti-government “right-wing” hate.  It turned out that Sparkman killed himself, but there were few if any apologies coming.

The Only Causes Worth Fighting For

Conservatives, libertarians, and other guardians of liberty today remind me a lot of Jefferson Smith from the classic film Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. Like Smith, conservatives stand in awe of the U.S. Constitution and the wonderful institutions it created to preserve their freedoms. But then reality hits and they realize that their cherished freedoms are being eroded in the name of graft and good intentions.

It might seem hopeless to turn things around when so much damage has been done. But as Smith rightfully points out, “Lost causes… are the only causes worth fighting for.” That’s because if we are on the right side, it doesn’t matter who opposes us: truth must prevail.

Jefferson Smith pleads with the senior Senator to do what's right during his filibuster

Mr. Smith Goes to Washington provides a blueprint for today’s battle and it offers hope that we can win. I’d like to compare that film’s events to our day and express optimism for the future.

Beware of RINO’s, drinking “TEA”…

A good assessment of the recent goings-on up at Capitol Hill…

(Our thanks to ‘Conservative Sue’ over at the Red Pill Report)

Well, the votes have been counted, and it appears the Democrats and Republicans have now passed a ‘fiscal cliff’ deal that represents a big tax increase with no significant long term spending cuts.  Outspoken critics of this deal include Senators Mike Lee, Rand Paul, and other Tea Party favorites,

What Speaker John Boehner has managed to accomplish with his adept political deal-making skill is to get the GOP blamed for the biggest tax increase in the last two decades while simultaneously increasing the deficit and kicking the spending cuts down the road for ‘another day‘ that, most agree, will never come.  And, to add insult to injury, the mainstream media is in full propaganda mode blaming the teaparty for obstructionism and a ‘bad deal‘ even though the teaparty has been pretty much united against this proposal from the start.

What does the GOP stand for?  Limited…

Bullies on the Left

Do you remember a bully in your life? Do you also remember the first time you confronted him/her? Boy, I sure do…and I’m betting you do, too.

American culture has always celebrated the ‘little guy’ standing up to the bully. It’s been a common theme in stories, books, and movies ranging from A Christmas Story, to The Magnificent Seven, to The Ten Commandments. Such a fascination with rooting for the underdog isn’t difficult to trace: it’s part of our country’s fabric. The Revolutionary War itself was the ultimate story of standing up to the biggest bully around.

So I find it a little troubling that, more and more, bullying tactics by the Left are excused, embraced or flat-out ignored. We’ve seen it with the voter intimidation in Philadelphia back in 2008; we’ve seen it with the Occupy Movement; we saw it with the Wisconsin recall aftermath.

And now we’re seeing it with the incident up in Michigan the other night.

No

The word just came down from the Supreme Court regarding Obamacare: even though Obama himself insisted, repeatedly, that this was not a tax, it was ruled constitutional on the grounds that…it’s a tax.

One of the saddest days of our lifetimes.

—-

This is a complete takeover of our lives. Everything, …everything….can be said to pertain to health. As I sit here, there is literally no aspect of daily life that I can’t imagine this impacting. If allowed to stand, this is a death knell to both our secular and religious freedom.

We really have only one choice now: ignore them.

Ignore the ruling; ignore the mandate; call/write/email your representatives, and tell them what you think of this. Tell them to tell Washington to take their Obamacare and its mandated “tax” and to place them both where sunlight won’t find ’em, IYKWIMAITYD.

You can sit on the sidelines, wringing your hands and cursing the sky, or you can act. Peacefully, of course, yet act.

—-

An unjust law is not a law, and this is one of the most unjust laws of our country’s history.

CRITICAL: a U.S. History Lesson in under 10 minutes

A number of items are coming to a head:

All these events are signalling a need for change. No, not the naive-yet-dangerous “Hope and Change” that Obama carped about in 2008. It’s a change, a rejection, of the ruinous path that we’re on. It’s a change FOR standing up for our unalienable rights and freedoms.

And primarily, when you get right down to it, it’s a change that was heralded by these guys.

———

This video is over a year old, and it’s even better and more apt now than it was then. A quote from it:

“It is the people with the Gadsden Flags – the ones calling for less government – that are on the side of the future… not the public sector union members living in the past to preserve benefits and entitlements that OTHER PEOPLE have to pay for… No, these Public Sector Unions actually have become the old, corrupt alliance of money and political power that they themselves were created to destroy.”

Watch it all: you’ll get a wonderful history lesson (or at least a great refresher course), and see how/why our history is tied into our future.

Support your local Occupod

Some of the commenters and I were having a conversation about this yesterday.

If the “Cleveland 5” was from the TEA PARTY, do you think today’s news would only be found on a few blogs and the local Cleveland news or, just maybe, some national news agency (like, ALL of them) would be gathered outside the courthouse right now?

But since it concerns the harmless, mostly-peaceful Occupoddos? Nothing to see here, folks….

From today’s newsnet5.com:

CLEVELAND Dozens of members of Occupy Cleveland showed up at a Cleveland courthouse to support the five people charged in connection with an alleged plot to blow up a northeast Ohio bridge.

The five suspects — 21-year-old Connor Stevens, 24-year-old Joshua Stafford (aka “Skully”), 26-year-old Douglas Wright (aka “Cyco), 20-year-old Brandon Baxter (aka “Skabby”) and 37-year-old Anthony Hayne (aka “Tony” & “Billy”) – pleaded not guilty during their arraignment Monday morning.

The suspects had the charges — conspiracy and attempted use of explosive material to damage physical property affecting interstate commerce — read to them in open court.

In all, about 50 members of the Occupy Cleveland group went into courthouse. After the arrests were made, Occupy Cleveland said the five suspects were associated with the group, but they were “in no way representing or acting on behalf of Occupy Cleveland.”

———————————-

So, the Occupy Guys immediately distanced themselves from these 5 morons terrorists, since they didn’t represent the cause, …and then dozens of Cleveland Occupy members show up at the courthouse to show their support …..for the people who don’t represent their beliefs.

Uh-huh.

New slogan for the Occupoddos: “We blame the fact that we’re idiots on the 1%”.

It’s the Tea Party…. Run for your lives!

I can’t believe they’re still at this.

The Democrats have a curious obsession with comparing the Tea Party to terrorists. This happened with stunning consistency for the past two years, especially during the 2011 Debt Ceiling debates. Even Vice President Joe “Foot-In-Mouth” Biden did it, as did Bill Clinton. It happened over, and over again.

Why? Because the Tea Party wants our country’s government to spend within our means? If you want to disagree, that’s fine. But calling that terrorism? I just don’t get it.

And now …….it’s happened again, this time in Oklahoma City, of all places.

From news9.com:

OKLAHOMA CITY -The chairman of the Oklahoma Democratic Party is refusing to back down from comments he made likening convicted Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh to tea party activists.

Chairman Wallace Collins on Tuesday described McVeigh as an anti-government “right-winger” and said he sees tea party activists in a “similar vein.” He previously told a Fox News reporter that if McVeigh were alive today, he would likely be a member of the tea party.

Oh, good grief.

As Bernie Goldberg said, this is coming from “….people who don’t call real terrorists ‘terrorists’ ”.

Have they still never SEEN a Tea Party?

Michael Graham, a radio talk-show host in Boston, wrote a book in 2010 titled That’s No Angry Mob, That’s My Mom. In it, Graham discussed various Tea Parties and their motivation: ordinary tax-payers pushed into action by the threat of higher taxes and increased government intrusion. Far removed from anyone’s definition of ‘terrorist’, these are non-violent, respectful, patriotic Joe & Jane Six-packs who want their government to not bankrupt the country.

Yep, they’re terrifying.

—————————————

Now, if it’s violence and various other illegalities that Chairman Wallace Collins (or anyone else) is looking for, there actually IS a movement that fits the bill, though the media is loath to describe them as such. Have you ever heard of the Occupy Wall Street kids?

It appears that these playful little scamps have run afoul of the law a time or three. The entire list is waaaaay too long to include here, so I’ll just borrow a partial one from verumserum.com as of mid-November last year:

Next time you hear someone painting the Tea Party as some amalgamation of horror-movie monster-meets-Hezbollah-member, keep in mind that actual Tea Partiers look like this:

And those harmless, loveable imps in Occupy Wall Street look like this:
