Remember “Julia”? She’s back, …and thanks to #Obamacare, she’s not doing too well

If you think back to the 2012 presidential campaign, a major storyline was Obama’s “Julia”: a PR storyboard which detailed the hypothetical cradle-to-grave, government-assisted life of a woman receiving everything from Headstart to college loans; from childbirth to Medicare.

Julia - A

It was highly illustrative, since such a life envisioned TOTAL dependence on Big Daddy Government and championed it as an ideal to be pursued, rather than avoided at all costs. It was mocked mercilessly, and rightfully so.

But what if Julia was real: now, …today?

When Obama speaks of “Freedom”, he doesn’t mean what you THINK he means…

gregwardwv“…Did you see that amazing football game this weekend?…”

That’s a question millions of Americans ask each other every week throughout the fall and early winter. Whether you prefer high school, college or the NFL is irrelevant: it is the nation’s unquestioned #1 sport, and everyone knows precisely what is meant upon hearing the question.

And yet: what happens if you ask the same question of an Englishman? Instantaneously, he’ll picture images of a soccer field in a rowdy stadium, with the latest exploits of Manchester United or some other local club replaying in his mind.

We purportedly speak the same language (English), and use the exact same word (“football”). The actual understood meanings of that word, however, are completely different.

And so it is with Barack Obama and “freedom”. Whenever he speaks of it, our president is supposedly speaking the same language as the country he leads, and yet “freedom” to Mr. Obama most certainly doesn’t mean what it does to you and me.

…and it certainly doesn’t mean what our Founders intended, either.

Freedom-sapping Regulations and Diktats are just the Govt’s way of “Encouraging” us

The word-of-the-day is courtesy of Merriam-Webster.com:

DISINGENUOUS –  lacking in candor; also : giving a false appearance of simple frankness : calculating.

And with that definition firmly ensconced in your brain, let’s get to a recent quote from our President which has (mysteriously, I know) managed to elude 98% of the Main Stream Media yet again:

obama keystone xl(TheHill.com) – President Obama on Friday confronted critics who have opposed his administration’s regulatory efforts to get Americans to use less energy.

In some cases we’ve actually been criticized that it’s a socialist plot that’s restricting your freedom for us to encourage energy-efficient light bulbs, for example,” he said at a town hall event in Binghamton, N.Y.

I never understood that but you hear those arguments,” he added.

Obama sharpens his Marxist message for 2013 State of the Union speech

SOTU

If you skipped the State Of The Union speech (and I couldn’t blame you, if you did…), then you missed roughly an hour of our president insulting our intelligence and lying about objective facts and figures. So, basically, no real surprises.

His primary and heavy-handed message was brutally obvious: Obama sees his Administration as a Marxist/socialist Robin Hood, and he’s here to make things “fair” (I’m starting to really hate that word…) for the downtrodden. He’s Barack The Lionhearted, fighting for the oppressed serfs.

Translation: if you thought issues such as “Obama Phones” and Solyndra were beyond the pale, you ain’t seen nuthin’ yet.

Our biggest challenge: this next generation just isn’t very bright…and it’s OUR fault.

Earlier we covered the egregious assault from the CA Teachers Union, as they created and released the most nakedly dishonest, Left-wing piece of video twaddle (to be shown to school children, IN SCHOOL) I may have ever seen.

Shocking? Horrifying? Oh, yeah. But it was just the latest volley lobbed at our kids in a 40+ year attack, and the results are already worse than depressing

“In particular, schools in America do an incredibly poor job of teaching our students subjects such as history, economics and geography that are necessary for understanding the things that are taking place in our world today.

For example, according to a survey conducted by the National Geographic Society, only 37 percent of Americans between the ages of 18 and 24 can find Iraq on a map of the world.  According to that same survey, 50 percent of Americans between the ages of 18 and 24 can’t even find the state of New York on a map

If our students cannot even find Iraq and New York on a map, what hope is there that they will be able to think critically about the important world events of our day?”
