Threats, Intimidation and Payback in the ‘Goodfellas’ Administration

There’s been a disturbing, …no, make that terrifying, …trend in our politics of late. We are being governed by people who behave like gangsters, minus the stereotypical accents or any perceivable ethical code. They believe (and behave as if) our nation’s laws are only for “little people”; schlubs. They believe themselves to be above the law, beyond it.

They believe they won’t be caught, because they believe they can’t be caught.

Most of all, they believe this allows them to deal with their enemies in classic gangster style: through threats, intimidation and ‘payback’. They want to send a message, they delight in it, precisely because they believe that no one can touch them.

And God help us all: they may be right.

Queen Sebelius has made yet another decree, this time stating that the Pit of Despair (otherwise known as the Healthcare.gov website) is 100% safe.

Take THAT, all you Obamacare h8ers:

They said they wouldn’t trust their own personal information to the site, although they acknowledged they don’t have firsthand knowledge of the system and its architecture.

Lefty spinners have been out in force this week, trying to not only put some lipstick on the Obamacare pig, but a cocktail dress, earrings and pumps, as well.

However, it seems to be having the opposite effect, which makes perfect sense. After all, you can argue ’til you’re as blue-in-the-face as a Smurf, and folks’ll still figure out that paying hundreds or thousands more each year for insurance is NOT the same as “If you like your healthcare plan, you can keep your healthcare plan…“.

Speaking as a longtime insurance professional, whenever I hear barely-functional idiots like Sebelius discuss insurance, it kinda’ makes my skin itch:

Even after weeks of continued scandal fallout, the Media & the Democrats (“buy one/get the other FREE!“) are still largely trying to downplay the worst aspects of Obama’s Scandal Complex. They’ve referred to the all of the varied and scandalous incidents as ranging from “silly” and “laughable“, to “stupid“, to mere “kerfuffles“. Some are not worth discussing since they happened “a long time ago“, while others are simply “no big deal“.

Uh, huh. Got it.

How “silly” of us to think otherwise.

Regardless, ever so slowly these incidents are taking hold in the public consciousness, even without any real assistance being given to them by the Dinosaur Press. Yet with much of that attention centered on Benghazi, the AP/Fox News phone records, the NSA snooping and the IRS’ indulgences and transgressions, the scandal which is remaining below the radar is the Kathleen Sebelius/HHS Shakedown.

And of all the current “Big” Scandals, I believe THIS to be the most indicative of how Obama’s Administration operates on a daily basis.

Once upon a time, Gov’t worked to DESTROY the Mafia. Now, they ARE the Mafia…

These words probably conjure up an image of a Mafia goon with an oft-broken nose, replete in an Italian suit. We’ve all seen Protection Racket schemes on TV, movies and/or in real life: bad guys doing bad things to good people.

It’s all part of the basic Mafia shakedown. As a safeguard, the Sicilian Mob’s code of silence (“omerta“) was employed to protect the Capos and Bosses from the criminal activities of those below them in their organizations. No one was to speak of any illicit activities, whether or not they had anything to do with them. In that way, the heads of “The Family” could maintain an air of plausible deniability, since nothing could ever be traced back to them.
