Seven “crashed” Hard Drives, #IRS? SEVEN??? Puh-leeeeeease….

Hard drive - what are the chances - Remy

I like a good piece of fiction as much as the next guy. But as brilliantly illustrated by ReasonTV’s Remy (below), there’s a limit to ANYONE’s ability to suspend their disbelief, …mine included.

If the #IRS was going to “extraordinary lengths” to recover Lerner’s emails, …why didn’t they just pull the backed-up tapes WHICH EXISTED AT THE TIME?

????????????????

One of the main tenets of the IRS’s (current) story about the Lerner emails is that they went to “extraordinary lengths” to recover them, but —darn the bad luck!!— they just couldn’t. Oh, well.

But based on the following questions from Republican Representative Jason Chaffetz, I’m guessing that YOUR definition of going to “extraordinary lengths” is probably not in sync with what the IRS’s definition seems to be:

Dear #IRS Commissioner Koskinen: “Nobody Believes You”

Koskinen - IRS5

Have you ever wondered what the operative definition of “supercilious” was? How about “imperious“? “High-handed“, perhaps? Well, IRS Commissioner John Koskinen’s testimony today is as good an example of all of those as I could have provided previously:

“…I have a long career, that’s the first time anybody has said they don’t believe me…”

Based on the laughable claims you are currently making, Mr. Koskinen, I’d offer that such a description is likely long, long overdue:

The #IRS, Lois Lerner, and exactly how much IS a “smidgen of corruption”, anyway?

No IRS

The IRS is lying.

Lerner and Company obviously figure that if they just keep the lies going, they’ll outlast Congress and any potential media scrutiny. Can’t fault them for the strategy, as it’s certainly worked out fine for them with EVERY OTHER SCANDAL so far…

But make sure you aren’t fooled by their denials, not even for an instant. From ex-CBS reporter Sharyl Attkisson:

“…These emails are not stored on a signal server or a single computer, so if there were a crash of a hard drive or some sort of system failure, they would still be retrievable. According to [John] Koskinen, the IRS Commissioner at the time, he told Congress that emails were stored offsite. That jives with people who said emails were backed up daily. There is a responsibility on the part of government officials to retain the data, make sure that is and can’t be lost in the system. If it’s true that the emails are lost, that’s quite a story in itself…”

The Left’s never-ending cries of “McCarthyism!!”

The Left’s responses to various stimuli are now so predictable they’re practically Pavlovian:

  • You criticize the president or his goals? You’re racist.
  • You criticize Hillary? You’re sexist and/or you’re “scared” of “strong women”.
  • You object to the way Mozilla’s CEO lost his job? You hate gays.

And if you try to discover the truth about a possible Democrat scandal, you’re accused of “McCarthyism“.

Obama March Madness: Scandals Edition

A nicely done video segment by the folks over at Campus Reform. Consider this post from our buddy Bret as a follow-up to our “With Change like THIS, perhaps there IS Hope“. Have Faith, gang: all is not yet lost…

T.B Rickert's Call

Sometimes you have to just go with the latest viral video. This one is from Campus Reform. Students from George Mason University rank the various scandals from the Obama Administration a la “March Madness” style.

The most telling moment is when one student proclaims; “It’s pretty incredible actually, I didn’t realize how many scandals were going on.”

If the President COULDN’T Lie, …What Would You Ask Him?

Robert - DejaReviewerToday we’re honored to have another offering from our friend, the Deja ReviewerAnd given the upcoming State Of The Union Speech, this post is particularly timely.

-JTR

In the 1997 comedy Liar Liar, Jim Carrey plays a dishonest lawyer named Fletcher who is dismayed when he finds himself unable to lie about even the smallest thing one day. This setup results in numerous memorable gags and funny jokes.

Liar Liar - JimOne of my favorites is when he drives like a maniac and gets pulled over by a police officer. He’s forced to relate every little misdeed he had just done, such as speeding, changing lanes without signaling, nearly hitting pedestrians, and more. But that’s not all.

The cop then asks if there’s “anything else?”, and Fletcher grudgingly admits that he’s accumulated dozens of unpaid parking tickets, and they’re hidden in the glove compartment.

After this deluge of painful confessions, he sinks into his seat and quietly says, “Be gentle.”

IRS, #Benghazi, and Bridgegate: …Guess which one the Media thinks is the only REAL scandal?

The media has been desperate for months now to take the country’s focus off of President Obama’s policy failures, his floundering economy and the sick joke of Obamacare.

So ever since Christie’s ‘Bridgegate’ story broke last week, the Media has behaved with their usual restraint.

Christie - bridgegate media canoli

Now allow me to clarify: I have no problem with the press investigating ANY politician for practically ANYTHING. My only issue is with their attempt to simultaneously cast President Obama’s entire panoply of scandals as mere trumped-up nuisances, even as they portray Bridgegate as a modern-day Khmer Rouge.

There were many video clips I could have selected to illustrate this, but the following one is basically representative of what I’ve seen elsewhere:
