“In the end, Barack Obama simply didn’t have the stones. It’s sad. And telling.”
– (Donald Gilliland, a journalist for the Patriot News in Harrisburg, PA).
President Obama angered and disappointed many by announcing recently he would not be attending the 150th anniversary celebration of the Gettysburg Address on November 19th.
The York Daily Record added:
“…Instead, he is sending us a little-known Cabinet member to do the job of a president, of a statesman, of an orator.
President Obama’s retreat from Gettysburg will linger, long and bitter…”
Does our Nobel Laureate President lack the “stones”? What could possibly cause the self-proclaimed healer of the planet to miss an opportunity to give a speech commemorating one of our nation’s greatest moments? Indeed, Mr. Obama loves to compare himself to Mr. Lincoln, even taking the oath of office using Lincoln’s bible. How to explain this strange decision by the President?
This is now officially THE new Democrat talking point:
Wow, that simply reeks of disdain for (A) the intelligence of the American people, collectively, and (B) the intelligence of the Left’s followers, specifically.
I’ll get into this more in a second, but first watch this clip from Megyn Kelly’s show and listen for the EXACT SAME ARGUMENT.
This is not a coincidence:
“The product is good. The health insurance that’s being provided is good.
It’s high quality, and it’s affordable. People can save money, significant money, by getting insurance that’s being provided through these marketplaces.” – (Pres. B. Obama, 10-21-13)
Is it just me, or was the President’s speech yesterday eerily reminiscent of another famously truth-challenged pitchman:

Ever since the Democrats started seriously formulating their ideas about Obamacare in 2009, we’ve heard all the same arguments, over and over:
- It will “bend the Cost Curve down…” — Umm, no, it doesn’t.
- “If you like your Insurance Plan, you can KEEP your Insurance Plan…” — Again, that depends: do you buy your insurance yourself, rather than through your employer? Do you own a Small Business? If so, then NO, you likely can’t keep your existing plan. Sorry ’bout that…
- “Your Healthcare will be better…” — That was always laughable, since adding millions of people to the ranks of the insured doesn’t add a proportionate number of doctors (see “If You Like Your Doctor” above…). Your care can’t be better when the same number (or fewer) doctors are attempting to care for tens of millions more patients.
But the one constant which we heard throughout all of the discussions was: “if you oppose Obamacare, you’re racist“.

The House Oversight Committee continued their hearings today (seen over at HotAir), but when you start getting verbiage like this from the President’s own party, perhaps the worm is beginning to turn here:

Back when I was still shorter than a regulation hockey net, I had an occasional issue with the truth. Although generally a decent kid, I periodically did things I shouldn’t (naturally), then made it exponentially worse by fibbing to try to extricate myself from the unpleasant situation I’d created.
Once when I was caught red-handed, my intricate lies having been systematically dismantled by my father (he’d have made an extraordinarily good cop), he told me this:
“Son, I want to be able to trust whatever you tell me, in any situation, always. But when you lie, and then tell lies to cover the first ones, you make it impossible for me to trust you.
No one expects you to never make a mistake, but a lie isn’t a mistake: it’s deliberate. A man takes ownership of his mistakes, every time. First you admit it, THEN you correct it.
Don’t ever forget that.”
And I haven’t.

At this point, if every separate Obama Administration scandal was a movie, you’d need to rent out a couple of multiplexes to show them all.
And that’s just the CURRENT ones.
I’m actually in scandal overload. In U.S. history, I personally can’t recall such an overwhelming display of blatant corruption and abuse of power since possibly Louisiana Governor Huey Long in the 1930s. By comparison, Watergate and Teapot Dome don’t even come close, in scale or breadth.

If you read the following and don’t immediately want to scream, you’re doing better than me. From TheHill.com:
“This is the most transparent administration in history,” Obama said during a Google Plus “Fireside” Hangout.
The president said this holds true even on the issue of Benghazi, a controversy which he said was “driven by campaign” year politics and one that Congressional Republicans were clinging to even though they’ve “run out of questions.”
“Benghazi is not a good example,” Obama said. “We’ve had more testimony and more paper than ever before.”
Got that, all you tinfoil hat wearing, crazy haters? The President just repeated for you, AGAIN, why his is the Most Transparent Administration in the history of Transparent Administrations. Because, that’s why. Furthermore: Shut up.
And, oh yeah: Benghazi doesn’t count…
