Media narrative on #Benghazi: just a story about “Hillary’s chances in 2016…”

shakespeare 1When analyzing the Benghazi hearings, Shakespeare’s famous line from Hamlet“The lady doth protest too much, methinks”, seems to be playing out in front of our eyes.

I’d humbly add my own corollary,  as well: “Methinks the Media doth protest too much, on behalf of the lady…”

That’s because, despite some tremendous revelations as to what actually transpired in Benghazi on 9/11/2012, the Media has decided upon their narrative and are sticking to it with their usual cultish zeal. Below, I’m including two examples of just how the Main Stream Media plans to portray these proceedings, for as long as they’re able.

I believe in Monsters, and Things that go Bump in the Night…

My wife and I have been watching a lot of old Law & Order episodes recently, back when the series dealt with its topics in a relatively even-handed way. And one line in particular keeps coming back to me.

It was spoken by ADA Jamie Ross (played by Carey Lowell), and it certainly applies to many of our current news items today: “I believe in monsters and things that go bump in the night, Jack. May they rot in hell, along with their attorneys.

I wholeheartedly agree.

Kermit Gosnell and his clinicWhat else would you say about national monsters like Kermit Gosnell, whose abortion mill was so gruesome and stomach-turning that just reading the reports makes your skin crawl?

Or about tyrannical despots like Ahmadinejad in Iran, or Kim Jong-un in North Korea?

These men, each of them, ARE monsters…and are very, very real.

We’re STILL being lied to about Benghazi….

Benghazi.

Over six months later, and there continues to be a virtual media black-out on the details concerning the events there on 9/11 of last year. Okay, not “black-out”…maybe a darkish brown-out, or a deep midnight blue-out. Whatever: the White House ain’t talkin’ about it, which is helped along by their best buds in the press rarely asking them questions.

I think I may know why….

bloody-hand

About the only ones who are still asking questions are talk radio, a few folks from the GOP, Fox News and bloggers like yours truly. And so far, that’s netted us…not all that much.

David Gregory on Benghazi: “WHAT cover-up?”

bloodhoundOnce upon a time, journalists were professionally curious individuals who could sniff out a story like a bloodhound, would look for clues diligently, and wouldn’t take ‘no‘ for an answer.

Plus, the Fourth Estate instinctively knew when they were being fed a line of bull by the current Administration, regardless of which party was in the White House.

Wow, that seems like a very long time ago, indeed.

Benghazi, and the Most Transparent Administration EVER

Luke Skywalker - NO

“Nooooooo-oooooooooo…!”

If you read the following and don’t immediately want to scream, you’re doing better than me. From TheHill.com:

This is the most transparent administration in history,” Obama said during a Google Plus “Fireside” Hangout.

The president said this holds true even on the issue of Benghazi, a controversy which he said was “driven by campaign” year politics and one that Congressional Republicans were clinging to even though they’ve “run out of questions.”

Benghazi is not a good example,” Obama said. “We’ve had more testimony and more paper than ever before.”

Got that, all you tinfoil hat wearing, crazy haters? The President just repeated for you, AGAIN, why his is the Most Transparent Administration in the history of Transparent Administrations. Because, that’s why. Furthermore: Shut up.

And, oh yeah: Benghazi doesn’t count

Obama had to choose between Freedom and Tyranny in Syria. Guess which one he chose?

Remember back in 2009 after the Iranian elections, when Obama basically did nada to assist the Iranian protests? When our president punted on a chance to knock-out the Anti-American leadership in Iran, and refused to offer ANY real help to the protesters?

Remember how that all worked out?

Well surprise, surprise, Obama is at it again. It appears he and he alone decided to not arm the Syrian rebels, against the advice of virtually EVERYONE in his administration.

bho

According to Leon Panetta’s and Martin Demsey’s testimony this week, we had the State Department, The Joint Chiefs, the CIA and the Defense Department all in favor of supporting the Syrian rebels…and yet Obama said “uh, …nope“.

Media is AGHAST at any expression of doubt concerning Hillary’s illness. In related news, boy-who-cried-wolf is now said to be Beyond Reproach…

It’s outrageous.

I can’t believe anyone would doubt the word of Hillary.

Um….

Wait a sec: …Hillary CLINTON?

Hillary “Rose-Law-Firm, Vince-Foster-suicide, Whitewater, New Square Four, Landing Under Sniper Fire, “I-was-named-after-Sir-Edmund-Hillary”,  inventor of the “Vast-Right-Wing-Conspiracy”, Marc-Rich-pardon-orchestrating, and owner of a list of crooked friends-&-business partners (e.g. Webb Hubbell & Ron Brown) as long as King Kong’s arm” Clinton?

(VIDEO) – Obama yet again fails to answer question of Benghazi Security

From Revealing Politics:

Last night, during the second Presidential debate, President Obama and Mitt Romney engaged in one of the most heated exchanges of the campaign yet.  When asked by an audience member about the lack of enhanced security in Benghazi prior to the attack on the Libyan embassy, President Obama stammered through a lame response that ultimately failed to address the question.

When Romney attempted to address the President’s inconsistencies in his excuse making, the moderator managed to forget her position and came to the aid of the President.

It’s not like this is a complicated question. Actually, if either of my two sons avoided a question to this degree, I’d automatically assume they were guilty of whatever I asked.

Now THERE’s a thought…

UPDATE: Over at HotAir.com, Allahpundit weighs in on this:

The deep scandal is sending a U.S. ambassador into a jihadi hive protected by a skeleton crew of possibly treacherous locals supervised by a notably inexperienced contractor. Stevens was a sitting duck. And the next time the Unicorn Prince feigns outrage by claiming it’s “offensive” to accuse him of playing politics with what happened, Romney had very well better point that out.

On the offensiveness scale, leaving the U.S. ambassador to suffocate to death while jihadi degenerates overrun his threadbare security detail ranks a wee bit higher than accusing Barack Obama of — gasp — focusing unduly on his own reelection.
