Obama on Letterman show: “If you want to be president, you have to work for EVERYONE”.

This is really just too much.

President Obama appeared on the David Letterman show last night (remember, though, that Obama just can’t spare the time to meet with Netanyahu). During the interview, our sanctimonious Über-leader made the following statement:

“One of the things I learned as president is you represent the entire country,” Obama said.

“If you want to be president, you have to work for everyone.”

“They didn’t vote for me and what I said on election night was: ‘Even though you didn’t vote for me, I hear your voices, and I’m going to work as hard as I can to be your president.’ ”

“Obama the Unifier”. That’s him, all right.

Let’s take a peek at some of his “Unifying” actions as President, shall we?

Passes Obamacare without a SINGLE Republican vote, AND when the polling numbers consistently were against it (and they still are). So, both by perception and fact, this was the antithesis of “unifying”.

Mandates the HHS requirement for employers to cover contraception in workers’ health plans. This was done in the face of the overwhelming disagreement by religious citizens, most noticeably the entire Catholic Church. Unifying? Oh yeah…

And, of course, there’s his jihad against the Coal Industry, who might have just a small problem with this Ultra-“unifying” message:

“So, if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can. It’s just that it will bankrupt them, because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted.”

Man-Oh-man, can this guy bring people together, or what?

Going to war in Libya after consulting the United Nations but not Congress. The result of that unilateral, anti-constitutional decision has recently played out in front of our eyes. Let’s hear it for Mr “Unity”!

His campaign’s continual pushing of the “War on Women” meme, while  denigrating any woman who chooses to be a home maker, or is Pro-Life.

This administration’s refusal to be forthcoming with the facts on Fast And Furious, which cost the lives of hundreds of people, including Brian Terry. That can be termed many things, but “unifying” ain’t one of ’em.

There are quite literally dozens and dozens more, and feel free to include your own in the Comments section. I haven’t even scratched the surface with this list.

Take a look at his statement one more time:

“Even though you didn’t vote for me, I hear your voices, and I’m going to work as hard as I can to be your president.’ ”

Such a self-assessment is either spectacularly deceptive, or completely delusional. Ultimately, it really doesn’t matter which.

President Xerxes’ hubris, coupled with his “I won” leadership style, is hardly “unifying”. It is the very definition of polarization, and it’s why another four years of such leadership is so mind-bogglingly dangerous and destructive for our nation.

The Empty Chair started off as an interesting joke. It is now the ONLY way to view this presidency.

UPDATE: Looks like John Hayward and I were thinking along the same lines this morning. If I have to be channeling someone, he’d be one of my first choices.
