From #Immigration to #Obamacare, this is all OUR fault…

Let’s admit it: this is all OUR fault.

It was WE who allowed Obama to be elected not once, but twice. It was WE who allowed the Senate to maintain a Liberal majority. And as a result, we’re witnessing our nation’s complete free-fall into Banana Republic territory.

What else can we call it?

From Obama’s newest business-killing “pivot” to Climate Change, to his inexplicable desire to conduct Peace Talks with terrorists, to his repeated attacks on 2nd Amendment rights, to the panoply of scandal which has rocked (yet mysteriously not toppled) his Administration, we’re now privy to a Federal Government which enables the most destructive dreams of the Left to become horrific, Constitution-inverting reality.

“Smart Power”: we supported the Boston Bombers via Welfare…

Every once in a while I get lucky, and the media makes me look like a bona fide fortune-teller.

Wizard 3

(…& before anyone asks, I’d be the one on the RIGHT….)

Such is the case today. Courtesy of BostonHerald.com:

“Marathon bombings mastermind Tamerlan Tsarnaev was living on taxpayer-funded state welfare benefits even as he was delving deep into the world of radical anti-American Islamism, the Herald has learned.

State officials confirmed last night that Tsarnaev, slain in a raging gun battle with police last Friday, was receiving benefits along with his wife, Katherine Russell Tsarnaev, and their 3-year-old daughter. The state’s Executive Office of Health and Human Services said those benefits ended in 2012 when the couple stopped meeting income eligibility limits.

“ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION” – Mr. Virtual President at a town hall meeting

v-potus-headerIn this chapter of “Mr. Virtual President”, Bill Whittle weighs in on another topic which is so deceptively portrayed by the Left: Illegal Immigration

This subject is consistently and deliberately referred to as simply “immigration” by its opponents, which blurs the rather salient difference between “immigration” and its illegal counterpart. Folks who are justifiably against the latter are instead accused of hating the former, and then labeled Xenophobes. It’s an old trick, but one which the Left uses in their arguments all the time (e.g. with stem cells vs. EMBRYONIC stem cells, etc.,..).

What’s Past Is Prologue

An excellent post courtesy of blogger ‘Utah’ over at THE RIO NORTE LINE

The Rio Norte Line

Almost three years ago, I wrote this:

I’ve just returned from an extended business trip to the United Kingdom, a little over 10 years since my first visit. During my travels, several observations were made that are relevant to our country and our next election. Where we stand on the edge overlooking the jagged chalk cliffs of multiculturalism, nanny statist ideals and socialism, our relatives have already stepped over. From the Fabian Socialists, the Unionists and the Communists of the pre and post-WWII era to Maggie Thatcher, Britain has wrestled with how a fading parliamentary empire can confront the political and social changes that modernity poses.

We are facing similar choices in America today.

I saw a significantly different society from only a decade ago. London has always been an international city, but a large segment has become Islamisized, with burkas as prevalent as mini-skirts, Farsi and Arabic as…

ICE Agent facing punishment for …arresting Illegal Immigrant

This came to light over the weekend, and I saw it on Fox News. I like to have at least two sources for an article, in order to compare the reports. Unfortunately, ….I’m still waiting for someone else to cover it.

So, here’s the story:

FOX NEWS — Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., is demanding answers after a report surfaced that a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent is facing punishment for arresting an illegal immigrant.

The unidentified agent could face a three-day suspension after he arrested a 35-year-old illegal immigrant from Mexico who had as many as 10 traffic violations. He was nabbed in Newark, Del.

The agent was ordered by supervisors to release the individual because he was not a “priority target.” When the officer balked, he was threatened with a three-day suspension and the illegal alien was let go.

“The actions that it appears were taken by your agency send a message to agents in the field that they will be punished for doing their duty and enforcing the law,” Sessions wrote in an letter to ICE Director John Morton and obtained exclusively by Fox News.

A spokesperson for the Newark Police Dept. told Fox News that had an American citizen been stopped under the same circumstances – they would have been jailed. Sessions said that is a troubling revelation.

“Federal law enforcement should certainly not be giving illegal aliens more preferential treatment that is afforded American citizens,” Sessions wrote. “Your agency’s apparent treatment of the criminal alien sends the troubling message that the demands of public safety are trumped by the desire for reduced deportations of those deemed ‘not presidential priorities.’”

Sessions is demanding that ICE provide a detailed account of the events involving the agent along with an explanation of why the illegal alien was released and allowed to pose a threat to public safety.

Word of the agent’s pending punishment for simply doing his job has outraged ICE agents.

“They’re punishing law enforcement officers who are just trying to uphold U.S. law,” said Chris Crane, president of the National ICE Council. Crane is a union representative acting on the unidentified officer’s behalf.

The officer under fire is an 18-year law enforcement and military veteran.

“They’re willing to take away their retirement, their job, their ability to support their families in favor of someone who is here illegally and violating our laws,” Crane told Fox News. “Right now (the Obama administration) is standing in the way of us enforcing the law by either taking a disciplinary action, threats of disciplinary action, or refusing to sign off on charging documents to put an illegal alien into immigration proceedings so a judge can sort it out.”

“If a law enforcement officer can’t perform routine enforcement functions, what do we have a law enforcement agency for?,” Crane wondered.

So, our immigration agents aren’t supposed to arrest illegals? This is so head-shakingly bizarre, even I’m stunned.

Then, I read the account from the arresting ICE officer, and ended up even more blown away. Also from Fox News:

The individual was not their criminal alien target. However, he was a 35-year-old illegal immigrant from Mexico who had ten previous traffic violations – including driving without a license.

“The officer made the determination using prosecutorial discretion that he would charge (the suspect) as being in the United States illegally and let the judge sort it out,” Crane said.

“That’s our place in the universe,” he said. “We’re supposed to make arrests and let the judges and the legal system sort through the details.”

Instead, two supervising officers, including the acting field director, intervened and ordered the officer to release the illegal immigrant. The acting field director sat down with the illegal and explained that he was going to be let go because he was not a “presidential priority,” Crane said.

In essence, the supervising officers took on the role of a public defender.

Over and over, we’ve seen Obama and his band of stooges flout the law, ignore court orders (unless they are favorable) and/or doing through executive orders what they can’t get done through normal channels. This has become the new normal.

In the case of illegal immigration, we now have a de facto new rule: illegal immigrants have MORE rights than legal citizens, since they seemingly can’t be arrested for being here illegally or for violations which occurred after they “arrived” here. Wonderful news, eh? Basically, we have given them diplomatic immunity. As Yakov Smirnoff might say, “What a country…”

There is a storm brewing, folks. I feel in my bones there will be a huge referendum against this Administration’s band of thugs in November. There’s an interesting post which articulates exactly why I believe that will be the case (which I’ll cover later this week), but rest assured: if we do everything in our power to oust these cretins from their positions of power, it’ll happen.

Believe it.

Out-and-out lawlessness

We touched on this last week, but Marco Rubio has been working on this problem for months now. If you didn’t hear his quote from last night, here it is:

—–

—–

OK, no surprise to us. We know that Obama divides on purpose, and that he actively seeks to pit one group against another. But I think Marco misses something here.

Look at what he says again:

“He deliberately divides Americans against each other for purposes of political gain,” Rubio said.

“If you look at this White House, they never pass up an opportunity to pit one group of Americans against another for purposes of improving his electoral chances. Time and again, whether it’s one group of Hispanics against another, men against women, rich against poor, he is constantly looking for opportunities to tell one group of Americans that they would be better off if another group of Americans were worse off, and I think while that’s common in politics, it’s not just Obama, it’s common in politics, but I think what’s really sad is he had a chance to be different.”

Rubio may be correct that “pit(ting) one group of Americans against another” is common in politics, but common with whom? Progressives/Liberals, of course. That’s their brand of politics, and it’s one that Obama uses with their implicit blessing:

  • What else would you call the (alleged) 1% against the (even more alleged) 99%?
  • What about the Catholic Church and her followers vs. the “I want free condoms and abortifacients” crowd?
  • Of course, we recently had the “Obama & gay marriage” thing, as well as
  • Voter ID laws that Obama’s Department of Justice is fighting tooth-and-nail.
  • And the ongoing battle over energy in the country.

Do all of THOSE topics divide people? Absolutely. I’d put Obama’s Gestapo-ish EPA among the absolute worst offenders, choosing enviro-weenies over the country time-and-again.

And now you have this utter disregard of the law which is breath-taking.

Charles Krauthammer actually summed it up pretty well over the weekend:

“Beyond the pandering, beyond the politics, beyond the process is simple constitutional decency. This is out-and-out lawlessness. You had a clip of the president himself say months ago ‘I cannot do this on my own because there are laws on the books.’ Well, I have news for the president: The laws remain on the books, they haven’t changed”.

So Rubio had it right, as far as he went. But Obama is intent on going much further than that, and I wouldn’t put anything past him now.

The Panderer-in-Chief

Quick question: What do you do when Unemployment is still over 8%? Why, you stop deporting folks who are here illegally, so that they can legally compete for the ever-dwindling number of jobs available in the country. That way you can make a blatant appeal to a voting bloc that you need, ….even though you have to bypass Congress and that Constitution-thingamajig to do so.

President ‘Pander’ strikes again.

From today’s Associated Press:

President Barack Obama says his plan to stop deporting younger illegal  immigrants who came to the U.S. as children will make the system “more fair,  more efficient and more just.”

The president says it “makes no sense to expel talented young people” who are  essentially Americans. He says he was taking the action in the absence of action by Congress “to fix our broken system.”

—-

A man in the Rose Garden asked Obama while he was speaking, “Why do you favor foreigners over American workers?” Obama responded that “this is the right thing to do.”

This announcement comes in the same week as the following Time cover story. I’m sure the President’s announcement today was just a coincidence, and not part of a larger, coordinated Narrative.

Yep; JUST a coincidence.
