Lies about Illegal Immigration, #HobbyLobby, Guns, and… well, pretty much everything

lies_liar_news_627x430

“…Tell me lies, tell me sweet little lies…”

(–Fleetwood Mac; 1987)

There has been a recent spate of news this week, and without exception the Statist Left is lying about it.

Completely. Every last stitch of it.

Let’s first consider our president’s recent statements on both illegal immigration and the recent Hobby Lobby ruling. In each case he insists that he’s being ‘compelled’ to act. With Hobby Lobby, it was the Supreme Court’s action which supposedly requires his Executive response. Yet in the case of immigration, he’s supposedly being “forced” into tyrannical, extra-Constitutional motion because of Congress’s inaction.

See how that works? Do something, or do nothing at all; both will elicit the same response from the Left. Just as ‘all roads lead to Rome’, anything that happens (or doesn’t) can be argued BY the State as requiring a response FROM the State. It’s literally an answer in search of a question, and any question will do.

In other words: it’s a lie

Student suspended for questioning CT Governor on Gun Legislation

Shut up

If you’re one of the many folks upset about Connecticut’s new gun laws, that state’s governor has a message for you: Shut Up.

Courtesy of the Daily Caller:

“…student Nicholas Saucier tried to get (Democratic Governor Dannel ) Malloy to answer questions about his support for gun control legislation, which has put Saucier’s ammunition manufacturing business in jeopardy. Saucier followed Malloy to his car after the governor finished speaking at a public forum at Asnuntuck Community College.

The exchange took place in October of last year, and was captured on video…”

Sounds relatively harmless so far, right?

Now here’s the video:

She’s back: Senator Di-Fi wants to ban guns that merely LOOK like military weapons

Here we go again.

In early 2013, Senator Dianne Feinstein was at the forefront of an effort to institute a government ban on more than 150 types of firearms, including rifles, pistols and shotguns. Thankfully, that legislation was shot down (…pun very much intended…).

But barely a year later she’s back, and singing the same ol’ tune:

Senator Dianne Feinstein - Ban ALL Scary looking guns

Gotta hand it to her, though: she may have the approximate mental acuity of a cabbage leaf, but she certainly knows how to appeal to her base:

Local businesses advertise they are ‘Gun Free Zones’. What could go wrong?

The Anti-2nd Amendment crowd is at it once again, this time agitating for businesses in Seattle to advertise their defenselessness to the whole, wide world.

Yeah, that’ll work out well:

(Seattle’s King5 News) – Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn is partnering with Washington CeaseFire to launch a new program designed to help local businesses become “Gun Free Zones.”

Businesses will be able to opt into the program by visiting  www.washingtonceasefire.org, signing the pledge to participate, and placing a “Gun Free Zone” decal in their window.

Gun Free zone 747646

“We are here to support businesses that do not wish to have guns on their premises” McGinn said in a statement. “The police department regularly enforces trespass laws when a visitor to a business violates that business’s rules.

We will continue to do so, and I thank these businesses for standing up for the safety of their customers.”

#NRA’s Colion Noir: “Shame on YOU, Mr. President…”

NRA 55Another excellent video from the NRA’s Mr. Colion Noir, as he takes on the President over gun control, …again.

We’ve covered three of his previous efforts, which you can find here, here and here.

And, since there’s really nothing that I could add to improve this, I’m just going to let Colion put some learnin‘ to y’all…

You’d think that the Anti-Gun crowd would PROUDLY display this sign: “This House is Gun Free”

A mea culpa: I completely missed this video when it originally came out, back when the New York state newspaper (the ‘Journal News’published the names and addresses of pistol permit-holders in Westchester and Rockland counties.

No matter. It’s just as pertinent today, illustrating perfectly the tremendous hypocrisy exhibited by Leftists/Statists when it comes to what THEY claim to “believe” in.

From Twitchy.com:

Posing as “Citizens Against Senseless Violence,” O’Keefe and company visited the homes of anti-gun journalists employed by The Journal News in New York and the Star-Ledger in New Jersey.

They also swung by Touré’s place and paid a visit to the ol’ Eric Holder homestead. Each household was asked to display a yard sign with the words “This Home is Proudly Gun Free.”

Gun Control, our Children and the State

Cupcakes-500x281You have likely heard of some of the more ridiculous gun-related stories from the past week:

Welcome to the new ‘tolerance’.

These events prompted Maryland state senator J. B. Jennings to introduce “Senate Bill 1058 – The Reasonable School Discipline Act of 2013″. Courtesy of the Daily Caller:

Killing Heroism: student gets suspended AFTER preventing school bus shooting

heroism (1)Last year, we covered several stories of heroism (“Land of the Fearful; Home of the Meek“). In each case, normal, everyday folks took extraordinary action while at work which, in a saner time in our history, would have garnered them nationwide recognition. In these cases, however, their bravery and willingness to act resulted in their being fired.

Yes, fired.

I said at the time why I felt this was the case:

“All three of these incidents have people acting in a heroic manner, either out of bravery, concern for others or just self-preservation. When did this become objectionable?

The answer, of course, is that now we are supposed to be timid, mild-mannered sheep, who turn a blind eye to people in need or even to our own safety. We aren’t supposed to question authority, even when that authority is nowhere to be found.”

So when I read the news report below, I was horrified that I may have been even more correct at the time than I thought. From the New York Daily News:
