We’re all aware by now of the delightfully ironic story coming out of (Summertime) Antarctica, about the climate research ship that is stuck solid in thick ice.  Chinese, Russian and Australian icebreakers have turned back for fear of also getting caught in the grip of the ice sheets.  Apparently these climate researchers are there to update data that was obtained 100 years ago by another climate research team.  That word “update” has my radar on high alert.  Does update mean ‘change’ or ‘alter’ the data to fit more in line with their global warming agenda?  What exactly needs updating?

At any rate, back to this photograph (see below), there are several remarkable things that jump out at me when I look at it.   It’s a picture of a science expeditions chief scientist, Alexander Stevens, taken in McMurdo Bay, Antarctica, in 1914.  What can be seen in this photo that…

Scientists Trapped In Record Sea Ice Announce That It Is Disappearing

Hmmmm, …makes sense. Of course, it’s perfectly logical that the inordinate amount of ice which surprised these researchers enough to TRAP them (and necessitate a rescue), would obviously mean that… the Antarctic ice must be DECREASING.

I stumbled across this article posted on the website Grist — a decidedly pro-climate alarmism site.  All of the problems that I have ever run across connected with the Chicken Little Syndrome exhibited by these people can be found in this one article.  This little story is so poorly written, it would get a massive F in any journalism course.

It’s worth a read just to demonstrate how to evaluate these hysteria-driven articles in one easy lesson.  It’s titled  “Climate change will ruin Christmas by threatening Christmas trees“ by Sarah Laskow.

It starts off with the usual fear-mongering ominous sounding “It will take six to 10 years, but Christmas is ruined.”  Doesn’t this sound remarkably similar to the equally horrifying headlines from a couple of years ago stating that children in the UK will never know what snow is.  We all know how that turned…

All Weather Is Caused By Global Warming

I listened to an NPR story this morning about wild weather tied to unusual jet stream activity and I waited patiently for the eventual tie in to Global Warming.  I knew it would happen and I was not disappointed.

It’s not clear whether global warming contributed to the recent extreme weather in Colorado, but it is possible, Francis says. That’s because the Arctic is warming up much faster than other areas, which “must have an effect on the jet stream,” Francis says.

Never mind that Arctic sea ice increased this year.  And don’t look at the data showing Arctic sea ice at the same level we were at in 2005.  And by all means, don’t look at the data that show the Arctic sea ice is now ‘normal’ when compared to the average since 1981.

But those sorts of inconvenient truths will never stop the AGW…

Our Leftist Federal Gov’t makes its favorite argument to #AGW skeptics: “Shut Up!!!”

Today’s lesson: how Liberals go about “arguing persuasively”, specifically in the area of Anthropogenic Global Warming.

Our first example is by way of the EPA:

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — The newly appointed administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency said Thursday the only way to confront climate-change challenges and environmental problems facing agriculture is for farmers and government agencies to work together.

Gina McCarthy, EPA administrator for three weeks, said she accepted Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad’s invitation to the Iowa State Fair to celebrate steps Iowa is taking to control the runoff of farm fertilizer and manure.

“The challenge today is just to stop arguing about the problem and really start driving solutions,” she said in the speech.

Why The #AGW Lie Persists

No one pulls apart the various lies and scams of the Global Warming Industry quite as well as our buddy, Cosmo.

For years I’ve struggled with the fact that supposedly well educated scientists continue to believe the Anthropogenic Global Warming (AGW) lie and the State Run Media (SRM) continues to publish these lies without challenging the facts of the story.

There is ample evidence that show:

1 – The temperature data has been tampered with – see here and here.

2 – The mythical hotspot that would be the signature of the enhanced Greenhouse Effect due to increased levels of CO2 hasn’t been found – see here and here.

3 – The Global Climate Models that are revered as holy by the AGW cult haven’t predicted or explained the lack of warming we’ve experienced for the past 15 years – see here and here.

4 – Antarctic Ice is expanding and the AGW cult can’t seem to wrap their minds around it – see here.
