Post-shutdown, it’s on: the #TeaParty vs. the GOP

So, …what now?

Yes, the Government Shutdown is over, and the Federal Leviathan is lurching forward once again. Of course, this is cause for wild celebration among the Left, even as they continue to blithely impugn the motives of their political opponents.

But the problems that brought this confrontation about are still here: rising debt (thus the necessity of raising the Debt Ceiling yet again), grossly expanding government, and ever-reducing freedoms. A weakening dollar, burgeoning entitlements and continued unemployment. Full-time jobs being replaced by part-time ones, and the advent of the “glitch”-riddled Obamacare.

All this and more was (and remains) the reason so many are insisting we need to change our ways, or perish.

‘Credit’ for Deadbeat Nation

It’s no secret that I’m pretty critical of President Obama.

But in the spirit of being fair-minded, I sincerely try to give him kudos for anything he does which is positive. For instance, I certainly commend him for keeping ‘Gitmo‘ open (against his will, of course, but still...), and bombing the heck out of terrorists with our drones overseas, and ….hmmm, actually, that may be it.

Regardless, I still look every day to see if there is some new way, some how, where I can give Obama some credit, and yesterday I FOUND one!!!

Like most of us, I was at work when the President spoke on Monday, so I didn’t get a chance to listen to his remarks or even read the transcript until late last night. I needn’t have bothered: I could have guessed at 85% of it in advance. It was deplorable in its entirety: a smug, supercilious man, repeatedly and brazenly lying to his audience (us) as he cast blame & aspersions onto everyone …but himself, of course.

The Fiscal Cliff is Dead; long live the Fiscal Cliff!!

Ahhhh, ‘Change’….

It seems that the new “Normal” in the age of Obama consists not only of chronically high Unemployment, +$1 Trillion annual deficits, and criticism of even his cabinet members being labeled out-of-bounds, but now will also include the omnipresent fear of the next Fiscal Cliff:

• From the Detroit Free Press: “Obama signs fiscal cliff bill, attention turns to next crisis.”
• From USNews.com: “Get Ready for the Next Fiscal Cliff“

Wait a sec: we can’t even get through 2 days after the 1st “Fiscal Cliff” is allegedly settled, and the Left is already signalling that they’re just getting warmed up?

And yet logically, shouldn’t all the Lefties, and certainly President Obama, be …happy right now? Contented, even? Just a little?
