Warning to the #GOP: Don’t let the Left rewrite history, again…

The Democrats can’t say they weren’t warned:

But that’s not how they view/spin it.

No, no. Years of warnings, the rise of the Tea Party, countless townhall meetings, Scott Brown’s election, the 2010 mid-terms, and even the government shutdown itself weren’t warnings, but rather “sabotage“.

And they’re serious. In Liberal/Leftist/Democrat parlance, somehow standing in the middle of the road and screaming that the bridge is out is now the moral equivalent of cutting your brake lines.

The #Redskins are merely the latest target of the PC crowd, …but they won’t be the last.

The feelings that a sports team’s fans have about their team’s nickname/logo are incredibly strong, maybe more so today than even in years past. In the old days and in every sport, plenty of athletes would spend their entire careers with one team, whereas that’s incredibly rare now. So when we’re rooting for a team, it may consist of almost entirely new personnel from one year to the next.

THIS makes the team nickname one of the only consistent aspects with which to identify. We end up rooting for an icon and an image, whether it’s a Giant, a Viking, a Bruin, or a King.

And that’s why this brouhaha over the Washington Redskins’ nickname has folks so thoroughly steamed.

School bus attack: I wonder if THESE 3 boys would look like Obama’s sons, too?

school bus 453

This is NOT to say that there was anything racial about this 3-on-1, black-on-white attack. The investigation thus far shows that it was at least partially drug-related.

But we must consider that there wasn’t anything racial about the Trayvon/Zimmerman incident, either, …until NBC News deliberately edited their tape to make it appear racially motivated.

And, of course, until President “If I Had A Son, He’d Look Like Trayvon” decided to pipe up.

This just in: Common Sense is NOT “#Racism”…

Amazingly, they’re still at it.

As you’re no doubt aware, the current cause célèbre of the Race Industry (aka: “Big Racism”) is the alleged “racial profiling” of Trayvon Martin, even though the trial proved that no such racial profiling existed in that case. Regardless, this has been discussed endlessly by both CNN and the MSNBC gang, the aforementioned Race Hustlers, and of course the President himself.

Darth - race is disturbing 9

But profiling (racial and otherwise) happens every day, to everyone. We ALL do it to one extent or another. Please consider a couple of examples to which I believe we can all relate….

The Corruption of #MLK’s Dream

MLK in hoodie 4When the Photoshopped image of Martin Luther King in a Trayvon-esque hoodie started to make the rounds on Twitter and other social media the other day, I was appalled.

But it got me to thinking…

If we were to somehow reanimate MLK from some futuristic Cryo-chamber and let him wander the country again, I have a feeling he’d be extremely disheartened by what he saw. First of all, I highly doubt that he would endorse his visage in the hoodie, an impression shared by his niece, Alveda King.

Secondly, Dr. King might sorely be tempted to conclude (in direct contrast to his oft-repeated dream) that racism today was to blame for seemingly every failing of our proud nation.

Just in case you forgot: “Somehow, if you oppose #Obamacare, you’re racist, Racist, RACIST!!”

CaduceusEver since the Democrats started seriously formulating their ideas about Obamacare in 2009, we’ve heard all the same arguments, over and over:

  • It will “bend the Cost Curve down…” — Umm, no, it doesn’t.
  • “If you like your doctor, you can KEEP your doctor…” — Unless you can’t, of course. See, there’s already a shortage of physicians, and more and more doctors are deciding to just pack it in, rather than deal with the worsening governmental nightmare. Of course, the term “doctor” may be somewhat nebulous in the future, as well.
  • “If you like your Insurance Plan, you can KEEP your Insurance Plan…” —  Again, that depends: do you buy your insurance yourself, rather than through your employer? Do you own a Small Business? If so, then NO, you likely can’t keep your existing plan. Sorry ’bout that…
  • “Your Healthcare will be better…” — That was always laughable, since adding millions of people to the ranks of the insured doesn’t add a proportionate number of doctors (see “If You Like Your Doctor” above…). Your care can’t be better when the same number (or fewer) doctors are attempting to care for tens of millions more patients.

But the one constant which we heard throughout all of the discussions was: “if you oppose Obamacare, you’re racist“.

Why do Media Liberals seem to LOVE Racism…?

Of all the behaviors by our über-Leftist media which causes my stomach to churn, their incessant carping about “Racism” may be the most annoying.

racist

It really doesn’t matter what the subject is, either. The “everything that Right-wingers/Conservatives/Republicans do is racist” rant is heard as regularly as the weather. And while MSNBC seems to lead the pack in this category (fairly consistently), other media outlets aren’t that far behind, with one charge of racism being more ridiculous than the next.

Encouraging Racism …by continually “focusing” on Racism

When I was a kid, racism was described to me as being the differentiation of one group from another based upon their skin color. Isn’t that still basically it? Whether that treatment is preferential or detrimental is irrelevant: being a racist is focusing on one’s race as a means of judging that person’s heart, abilities, motives or actions.

And yet, it seems more and more that the folks in positions of authority (namely the schools and the government) are more focused than ever on drawing attention to people’s race. We just gave an example of this the other day, when we discussed a program run by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction which encouraged white students to wear a white wristband “as a reminder about your (white) privilege.”

Rather than being an outlier, such hyper-guilt-based instruction now seems to be something of a trend in education.
