You may have heard that the CBO (Congressional Budget Office) recently released a disastrous report which detailed that Obamacare was likely to result in 2.3 million fewer jobs.
But as fast as that news came out, the Democrats and their Media shills issued a counter narrative: “No, that’s not true! It’s not that Obamacare will kill jobs! It’s only that people will choose not to work (or work as much) so as to qualify for health care subsidies, and THAT means that there’ll be the equivalent of 2.3 million fewer people working.
See? It just kills employment, not jobs, which is TOTALLY different! Sorta…”
Of course, the casual news gatherer (which is way more than half the population) never heard the second half of that argument. They heard “No, that’s not true…”, and the rest faded into Miss Othmar’s voice from the Charlie Brown cartoons. No matter, they got the gist: those Republicans have obviously lied once again about King Barack the Beneficent and his glorious Health Care Machine. The details as to exactly if, how or why they lied are probably unimportant, anyway.
Except that they’re not.

Did you hear the great news?
(via the Associated Press) – “…Several million people will reduce their hours on the job or leave the workforce entirely because of incentives built into President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul, the Congressional Budget Office said Tuesday.
That would mean job losses equal to 2.3 million full-time jobs by 2021, in large part because people would opt to keep their income low to stay eligible for federal health care subsidies or Medicaid, the agency said. It had estimated previously that the law would lead to 800,000 fewer jobs by that year…”
Sure, sure, that doesn’t seem like great news. But that’s exactly why the White House’s crack PR spin-meisters (CODENAME: the “Alternate Reality Team”) was activated as soon as this news hit. The guys from the A.R.T. (motto: “Anyone can lie, but what we do is ART”) instantly assured everyone within earshot that y’all are just too stupid to understand complex economy-related terms, such as “fewer jobs” and “2.3 million of ’em“:

Obamacare was born solely out of a raw desire for power, and passed only through distortions, lies, the most extreme partisanship, sleazy political maneuvering and myriad since-broken promises. And even though all of the President’s fancy assurances about the Affordable Care Act weren’t real, the people whose lives it’s currently destroying ARE.
So as a quick ‘refresher course’, this brief video (below) just came out today from the fine people at Heritage.org. As you watch it, keep in mind there’s simply no repairing a law that came about as a result of this many lies.
Which is why we don’t want this legislative nightmare “fixed”, …we want it gone:
Some excellent work here by the news team at WTAE Pittsburgh.
Quote of the year:
“I don’t know how President Obama thinks that he’s helping us. Because, …because we can’t afford this”.
This was what I wrote around this time last year:
“…If you skipped the State Of The Union speech (and I couldn’t blame you if you did…), then you missed roughly an hour of our president insulting our intelligence and lying about objective facts and figures.
So, basically, no real surprises…”
And how was THIS year’s speech? The same. Actually, almost exactly the same. To the point that it will be easier to focus on this year’s differences, because the similarities would take much, much longer.

If anyone was surprised about this, they shouldn’t be.
(via LIFENEWS.com) – The Obama administration has filed legal papers appealing a decision by the Supreme Court to protect a group of Catholic nuns from being forced to obey the controversial birth control mandate.
As LifeNews reported this week, in a huge 11th-hour victory for pro-life advocates, the Supreme Court issued an order late Tuesday night stopping the Obama administration from forcing a group of Catholic nuns to obey the HHS mandate that compels them to pay for abortion-causing drugs and birth control.
In an interview after the decision, the White House said forcing the Catholic nuns to pay for those objectionable things that run counter to Catholic Church pro-life teachings strike’s the right “balance.”

There’s an old Calvin & Hobbes cartoon that is appropriate for around this time of year, but also has a deeper correlation to our politics today:
I truly believe that this sums up our President’s approach to most of what he does. How else to explain the Obamacare rollout, or the NSA snooping, or IRS targeting, or Fast And Furious, or Benghazi, or Iran, or…. well, you get the idea.
Far from being a diabolical mastermind deftly pulling the country’s strings, Obama is the equivalent of a zit-faced, ideological teenager out joyriding in his daddy’s car. Sure, he’s drunk with power and bent on the country’s destruction, and I daresay he’s overall quite pleased with the results thus far.
BUT, but he’s not actually in control of this mess. For that to be the case would require a once-in-a-generation leader/manager of tremendous skill and experience; a combination of Churchill and Jack Welch, with a dash of Patton thrown in. And if there’s one thing we DO know, …that sure-as-shootin’ ain’t Barack.
This is partially explained by his background: he’s never had to actually deliver, whether during his time as President of the Harvard Law Review, or as a State Senator, or while a U.S. Senator.
He was allowed to just give speeches, vote “present”, and sorta… coast.
