I’m so old, I remember when the Left informed us, ad nauseam, that we HAD to exclusively turn to Wind, Solar, and Hamster Turds for our power…..,  because we’d discovered all of the oil and gas we were ever gonna find.

It was framed as “common sense“, and “accepted wisdom”, and “science”.

…Especially “science“.

(via CBS Baltimore) – The days on incandescent bulbs are dimming. It’s been a seven-year phase-out effort by the government. The 100-watt disappeared from store shelves back in 2012. Now this year, they’re pulling the plug on the two most popular incandescent bulbs–the 40 and the 60-watts.

“In some cases we’ve actually been criticized that it’s a socialist plot that’s restricting your freedom for us to encourage energy-efficient light bulbs, for example,” he said at a town hall event in Binghamton, N.Y.

“I never understood that but you hear those arguments,” he added.

Suspicious #EPA “waiver” still shrouded in secrecy. But why???

Wanted to update this story from earlier: “The Most Transparent Administration EVER strikes again“. 

If you didn’t read that post (and honestly, you probably should…..), the two big questions arising from it were:

• What was the NAME of the refinery which was singled-out to receive a hugely beneficial waiver from Federal Ethanol renewable fuels requirements, and
• Why did that refinery, and ONLY that refinery, qualify?

Well, it seems that the Wall Street Journal was able to find 1-out-of-2: we now have a name. Unfortunately, that name doesn’t exactly remove the mystery from this newest demonstration of Obama-era ‘transparency’:

Pretend for a minute that a video existed which showed out-of-control, right-wing, Conservative Republicans with their faces hidden by masks and bandannas. Pretend they were all screaming, cursing and basically behaving like your average Muslim Brotherhood supporters.

Not just audio, mind you: VIDEO.

Is it any stretch of the imagination to assume that such a video would be shown on every News Channel, every 20 minutes, …PLUS Comedy Central, …PLUS all the daytime shows?

Such a video DOES exist, …but since it concerns folks on the Left behaving like animals, the media has immediately begun channeling Marcel Marceau, and thus we don’t hear so much as a peep from them.

The following story springs from Wisconsin, a state which has already seen more than its share of crazy Lefty activity in the last couple of years, as you might “recall”.

Thanks to legislation signed by Governor Scott Walker this year, there’s an open-pit iron mine being developed up in northern Wisconsin. Since this will provide resources, jobs and be a general boon to the economy, NATURALLY the Left has a visceral hatred for it and wants to shut it down immediately.

I just realized something: I think I’m an “environmentalist”.

No, I haven’t suddenly started to wander around in leather sandals and a hemp shirt (at least, not yet). But based on a recent news report, I’m fairly certain that I’m more concerned about the welfare of the environment than the folks we usually see purported to be ‘saving the planet’.

Here, I’ll prove it.

A few days ago near the Quebec town of Lac-Mégantic, a runaway train exploded. The train was loaded with crude oil from North Dakota, and the gigantic explosion is estimated to have killed at least 50 people. 

But a larger point was missing from most of the headlines on this tragedy, namely: why was the oil being transported by train in the first place?

Remember the old days, when our Colleges, Universities & various Institutes of Higher Learning all bragged that they existed to encourage an “open exchange of ideas”?? That they wanted to teach kids HOW to think, not WHAT to think??

When I first got the tip on this, I thought to myself “nobody can be this stupid to photograph themselves doing this” but, here they are, right from the San Jose State University Meteorology Department web page:
