PROOF that the problem with America is STUPIDITY

I had to read the newspaper article TWICE, to be sure its author wasn’t joking.

Sadly, they were not…

More election analysis: Yep, we’re DIVIDED, but NOT in the way you might think

Two excellent jobs of analysis, coming from two starkly different viewpoints. Both are worthy of serious consideration, though.

The first is from one of our buddies, Cosmoscon, titled ‘A Divided America‘:

“Conventional wisdom tells us that über 1%-er Romney and the Republicans mainly do the bidding of the wealthy and Obama and the Democrats represent the poor.

Not according to this:

“A-B-C”, and other secrets to Obama’s victory (plus what WE need to do going forward)

Been reading through all of the election post-mortems, just trying to learn as much about why President Free-Stuff won and what this portends for our country. What I’ve found is ….interesting.

One of the better pieces thus far was from Slate.com, of all places. Not one of my usual ‘go-to’ sites, but I can’t argue with much of John Dickerson’s assessment.

Just a sample:

Of the nine battleground states that were up for grabs, Obama won seven of them, losing only North Carolina (Florida remains to be called). But while Obama won those states, he didn’t crush it; he won instead, a string of precise narrow victories. He didn’t win because his leadership during Hurricane Sandy blew all those swing votes his way (though it may have helped). The president won because he ran a permanent campaign, keeping his offices open in the battleground states from his 2008 campaign, tending his coalition assiduously, and because he relentlessly defined his opponent. His was the better campaign. The Democratic candidate of “hope and change” beat the big business Republican in the trenches, in one state after another.

Election 2012: The DIVIDED States of America

I was looking for election coverage Tuesday night, but I kept finding movies instead. First, the sequel to ‘Titanic‘ was on, and before I turned it off it looked like they were gonna try to hit the iceberg from the other side this time. Also on was a remake of the classic ‘Pinocchio‘, but this time the little wooden boy decided to remain on Pleasure Island where he could eat, drink and smoke for free, despite the now obvious signs that it’s turning him into a donkey.

Oh, wait a sec…  all of that WAS the election coverage! Silly me, I got confused between the channels.

It was an easy mistake to make. After all, America has somehow decided it doesn’t care HOW many trillions of debt we rack up: we want our free food-stamps-and-phones, darn it, and we re-elected the guy promising them, and more.

You know, like this lady:

We can DO this!!! (…all the reasons you’ll ever need to vote FOR Romney and AGAINST Obama…)

You know what you have to do today:

So with that in mind, we’re including just a FEW reminders for you…

“God’s Will Be Done” doesn’t mean WE should do NOTHING

It’s no secret I’m Catholic, & stridently Conservative to the core. My wife is closer to my sister, though: Conservative in nature, and Christian, but not overtly political. Being married to me has done nothing to change that.

She reminded me a couple nights back that God is in charge and that His will has been done these past four years with the election of President Obama. This doesn’t mean she’s pleased by it, but rather that she finds comfort in the knowledge that God acts in ways incomprehensible to us. These past four years have somehow served God’s purpose in a way only He understands.

That does not, however, mean she will be sitting on the sidelines come Tuesday. She will be voting with basically two thoughts in mind:

Revenge, or Love of Country??

—–

From DrewM. over at Ace Of Spades HQ:

“Liberals accuse conservatives and Republicans of hating Obama because he’s black. It’s a silly and baseless charge. The reality is a lot of us hate him for things like this. Voting as revenge?

Who talks like that?

2 more explanations for why President Obama failed so miserably

In my opinion, President Obama has turned out to be the greatest fraud perpetrated upon a populace since Toto pulled back the curtain in Oz. He is snake-oil, a wooden nickel and a rubber check, all rolled into one.

His lack of leadership, coupled with his desire to spend, spend, spend our way out of debt, make him not only unfit to lead our country, but unfit to run the convenience store near my house.

There are two articles out which buttress my point on these observations.

The initial one was from Daniel Henninger in the Wall Street Journal, in a post titled “The Un-President”.

Here’s just a bit:

So came the moment late in the Hofstra debate when moderator Candy Crowley looked at Mr. Obama and asked: “Does the buck stop with your secretary of state as far as what went on here?”

Staring back, the president clutched for a second. He looked like a fourth-grader being confronted in front of the whole class by Miss Crowley of all our childhood nightmares. That moment revealed the problem: At the core of Barack Obama’s persona and his presidency is a constant instinct to deniability.

It’s not my fault.
