Same Old Battles

An older but highly pertinent post from one of our ‘Guest Noggins’, Greg Ward.

We often hear the adage “those who fail to learn from History are doomed to Repeat it“. Too bad that, even now, people fail to take its meaning to heart.

Obama on #Obamacare: you’ll LOVE it!!!

Mr. Virtual President, on Health Care

v-potus-headerGlad to see Bill Whittle’s alter-ego, Mr. Virtual President, has decided to wade back into the verbal fray this week.

Bill does his normal exemplary job in the clip below, pointing out some commonsense solutions to our current self-induced health care travails. And no, his solutions do NOT include adding a staggering, stumbling Federal Government bureaucracy as a go-between twixt us and our doctors.

Prediction FAIL: #Obamacare implementation will be “a Huge Political Success”

I love this.

Slate 3From Matt Yglesias at Slate.com, 7-17-2013:

“…I’ve got a new column up about the White House’s plans for the rollout of the Obamacare exchanges and I wanted to once again take the opportunity to lay down a marker and say once again that Obamacare implementation is going to be a huge political success…”

BOOM!! Harry Reid goes Nuclear; blows up Senate #Filibuster rules

Nuclear-Boom 422

They did it:

Yes, we’re back to the Nuclear Option!, and no, we’re not discussing Iran (for once).

What is it? From Legal Insurrection:

“…The “nuclear option” refers to a move by the majority party in Senate — in this case the Democrats — to change the Senate rules to allow most executive branch and judicial nominations to be approved with a simple majority – 51 votes — rather than the 60 votes now required. Under the current rules, the minority party can block a nomination with just 41 votes, commonly called a filibuster…”

DELUSIONAL: asked about website security concerns, #Sebelius says “I feel like it’s safe”

Sebelius - feelings

Well, then…

Queen Sebelius has made yet another decree, this time stating that the Pit of Despair (otherwise known as the Healthcare.gov website) is 100% safe.

Take THAT, all you Obamacare h8ers:

(via Yahoo News) – On Capitol Hill on Tuesday, a panel of computer security experts raised another fear — that the website is vulnerable to hacking. They said they wouldn’t trust their own personal information to the site, although they acknowledged they don’t have firsthand knowledge of the system and its architecture.

One topic commonly discussed here at “Two Heads…” is our nation’s culture or, perhaps more specifically, the deterioration of our culture.

America - Demotivational Poster

Recently, I came across an article by Reverend Billy Graham, titled “My Heart Aches for America“.  In it, he recalls a conversation he had with his wife, Ruth:

“…Some years ago, my wife, Ruth, was reading the draft of a book I was writing. When she finished a section describing the terrible downward spiral of our nation’s moral standards and the idolatry of worshiping false gods such as technology and sex, she startled me by exclaiming, “If God doesn’t punish America, He’ll have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.

Jay Carney tries to spin Obama’s “Keep Your Doctor” promise…

Haven’t seen tap-dancing like this since Fred and Ginger:

Absolutely classic.

First of all, please note yet another attempt at indirectly blaming Republicans for this epic monstrosity, with Carney’s “…using a model from a Republican governor in Massachusetts…” line. For the eighty millionth time, just because something is popular in one state does NOT mean that it should be embraced by the entire nation through federal mandates.

Carney - Lying
