#Obamacare: “I just didn’t realize I would be the one who was going to pay for it personally.”

For about the thousandth time since the 2012 election, let me say it again: “Thanks, Lefties“.

Old insurance guys like me instinctively knew that Obamacare would be a disaster for our nation, but not you guys. Oh, no: you insisted it’d be awesome! How’s that working out so far, …hmmm?!?

obamacare screw 8

To be fair, even the most hardcore skeptics thought the Federal Government might possibly have the basic machinery in place in order to operate the Exchanges, prior to opening.

The website is the EASIEST part, after all: it’s the bare minimum level of demonstrable competence. But c’mon: praising the Government for having their website running smoothly from the start would be like congratulating a new hamburger stand for actually having hamburgers available on Day #1.

And the Obama Administration couldn’t even get that figured out?? “Smart Power”, my fanny…

I promise: the nuts-&-bolts stuff is far, FAR simpler than the actuarial underwriting and pricing of the policies themselves. That part is what really separates the passable insurance companies from the good ones, and the good from the great; it is more Art than Science.

Which, by the by, is why Obama’s not being able to even generate a quote on the Obamacare Insurance Exchanges in anything approaching a timely manner is such an epic failure.

facepalm-cat

Even after being taken offline over the weekend, the Obamacare Exchange website is still a disaster. How much of a disaster? Well, bad enough that no one will publicly give a number for how many people have obtained coverage yet, …not even a rough number.

But wait: it’s actually even worse than THAT, per John Dickerson at Slate.com. The following is an actual “Live Chat” conversation with a lady in Pennsylvania who has been trying to get a quote on Exchange website for a week (**the woman’s name has been changed):

Isn’t that special??

On the bright side, at least all of the Lefties are excited about their new lower, magical “Obamacare” health insurance premiums, …right?

Right?

(via Mercurynews.com) – Cindy Vinson and Tom Waschura are big believers in the Affordable Care Act. They vote independent and are proud to say they helped elect and re-elect President Barack Obama.

Yet, like many other Bay Area residents who pay for their own medical insurance, they were floored last week when they opened their bills: Their policies were being replaced with pricier plans that conform to all the requirements of the new health care law.

Vinson, of San Jose, will pay $1,800 more a year for an individual policy, while Waschura, of Portola Valley, will cough up almost $10,000 more for insurance for his family of four.

(…)

“Of course, I want people to have health care,” Vinson said. “I just didn’t realize I would be the one who was going to pay for it personally.”

And there you have it: the people who enabled this whole mess, the folks who believed all the lies, and have been defending them for years, and who voted for President Genius again in 2012, …didn’t realize they’d be made to suffer, too.

There’s a (rather obvious) lesson to be learned in all this for our Leftist brothers and sisters. Don’t bet on that happening, however.

  1. Lefties have to eventualy learn or we are permanently screwed.

  2. rmnixondeceased

Reblogged this on Dead Citizen's Rights Society.

  3. That transcript is frightening. Did you post this because it’s trick or treat month?? 😉

  4. Just got back from a trip into ‘the city’ the STL. Always see obama stickers galore there… aren’t these people ashamed YET?!

    obama. WORST. President. EVER.

  5. “I just didn’t realize I would be the one who was going to pay for it personally.”

Someone should have asked him just what he planned to do with this bit of information. Has it changed his attitude any about Obamacare?

    • Judging from the article, I don’t think it has sunk in yet.
But really, how oblivious do you need to be to NOT know we’d have to pay more for something to be “free”?

Willful Lefty ignorance, on full display.

      • I don’t believe a true leftist cares whether they have to pay for anything or not, but I really don’t think there are as many actual “liberals” out there as they claim. I think most of the people who got us into this mess are folks are either apathetic or ignorant. What we really need to do is overhaul the preliminary voting process by making sure that anyone who wishes to vote can at least answer some basic questions. Besides that, we are still too caught up in “semantics” when it comes to talking to everyday people (or students) about politics. I hear questions like, “would you ever consider voting for a woman for President,” or “what do you think the biggest/toughest issues there are today?” What we REALLY need to be doing is explaining the difference between Republican and Democrat! That is KEY!

  6. Left wing chickens are finally coming home to roost!

  7. It’s not rocket science, but maybe they could have used some NASA technicians in the website development?
You know, since they don’t do “space stuff” anymore…

    • A very intriguing idea, Hatfield.

My guess is that NASA is still busying themselves with attempting to “…reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science…”

Lord knows that’ll take some time.

The gubmint needs to start drug testing its officials, because Mr. Lew and Ms. Sebilius are definitely smoking something! I just heard an interview with her and she maintains that PART TIME employment is actually going DOWN, and that Obammycare is having NO EFFECT on employment. Maybe we should take Mr. Lew’s advice and NOT participate in PPACA until we have version 1.8. At their current pace, that would push us back 25 years, MINIMUM!

I must tell ya, though, I LOVE seeing these buffoons trying to spin this heaping pile of dung…

  9. Hey, JTR, wouldn’t you think with the problems and controversy of ObamaCare that they would have made sure they would have the best site they could? (even if its just show — especially for show) And if nothing else, I could see them building the most expensive site ever too. So maybe they’re slipping?

    • This is what happens when Big Bro gov. does what it calls a “marketplace”.

    • BR, that’s just it: endless money doesn’t necessarily buy you competence, which is an incontrovertible FACT in the free market, and a fact ten-times-over in government.

Even a “just for show” site requires a basic level of intelligence and preparedness, …something that seems to be in short supply with this crew. Our military is the last thing that cost lots of money for the gov’t to build which works, …and Obama is intent on destroying THAT, too.

They just aren’t very bright, from Obama on down. They’re mean, they’re ruthless, and they know the Media has their back 100%, …but they aren’t particularly smart.
