The Public School system is keeping up the Leftist attack on our kids.
Lord knows we’ve covered a ton of bias stories in the schools, including just yesterday. And now there’s another one (via Gateway Pundit):
Twenty-six states are set to add global warming “junk science” to the public school curriculum.
‘Inside Climate News‘ reported:
New national science standards that make the teaching of global warming part of the public school curriculum are slated to be released this month, potentially ending an era in which climate skepticism has been allowed to seep into the nation’s classrooms.
The latest draft recommends that educators teach the evidence for man-made climate change starting as early as elementary school and incorporate it into all science classes, ranging from earth science to chemistry.
By eighth grade, students should understand that “human activities, such as the release of greenhouse gases from burning fossil fuels, ARE major factors in the current rise in Earth’s mean surface temperature (global warming),” the standards say.
“Climate Skepticism”? “Current rise”? Oh, good-flippin’-grief: we covered this back during the President’s State of the Union address, but since they brought it up:
According to the Met Office Hadley Centre Climate Programme (funded by England’s Department for Energy and Climate Change):
The world stopped getting warmer almost 16 years ago, according to new data released last week.
The figures, which have triggered debate among climate scientists, reveal that from the beginning of 1997 until August 2012, there was no discernible rise in aggregate global temperatures.
This means that the ‘plateau’ or ‘pause’ in global warming has now lasted for about the same time as the previous period when temperatures rose, 1980 to 1996. Before that, temperatures had been stable or declining for about 40 years.
It’s almost as if they ignore stuff they don’t like. Funny, I didn’t know that science worked that way…?
I wouldn’t even have a big problem having the students study the possibility of Man-made Global Warming, as long as they were being taught ALL aspects of this theory, including an objective discussion on the dissenting viewpoint. But no, that’s not even being considered. All students must be taught the State’s perspective and ONLY the State’s perspective, in all things.
As I have said before, this isn’t education: it’s inculcation.
Along those lines, there was another item that mirrors this approach to “educating” our children, and I am using that term loosely. You may wish to sit down:
The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction runs several programs that heavily emphasize racial issues in public schools, EAGnews.org has been finding.
…one of those programs – an Americorps operation called VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) – may go a bit overboard by encouraging white students to wear a white wristband “as a reminder about your (white) privilege.”
The website also offers a series of suggestions for high schools students to become more racially sensitive, (in addition to the wristband). They include:
— Set aside sections of the day to critically examine how privilege is working, and
— Put a note on your mirror or computer screen as a reminder to think about privilege.
Would somebody tell me how having a kid constantly flagellate themselves for the color of their skin (regardless of what it is) is constructive? Dr. King’s message for our society was for us to become colorblind, not color-centric! And yet the smarty-type folks running the Public School System seem hellbent on never, ever letting us forget our most superficial of differences.
This is how our tax dollars are being spent: brainwashing our children with Liberal claptrap until they only spew Statist views, reflexively, for the remainder of their lives.
However, be warned: home schooled kids aren’t entirely safe, either. There is a proposed law in Connecticut that would mandate all kids to undergo a State behavioral mental health assessment. Who would create the standards for this psychological profile? Why, the State, of course! And if this sounds to you like a process which could all too easily become corrupted by the current Public School group-think, you’re hardly alone.

We can’t relax, unfortunately: the State won’t allow us that luxury. And like the song says, “the children are our future“. Thus, if we fail to protect them with every vestige of our being, we will not only have failed them.
We’ll have failed God, ourselves and our nation, as well.
Yellow stars next?
Depends: are we talking 20th century Germany, or Dr. Seuss “Sneetches”?
Both…
Oh. Well, in that case, the choice then becomes a question of motive: stupidity or evil.
Doesn’t really matter which it is at that point. They’ll both accomplish the same goal.
obama as McBean…
ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!!
Oh, good heavens….
My sides actually, physically hurt.
😀
50 years of dumbing down school curricula has given us the low information voter of today. Now, it’s time to forge the regime of tomorrow by the inculcation of today’s youth.
Sounds like the opening statement from a recent NEA meeting….
No kidding!
“I wouldn’t even have a big problem having the students study the possibility of Man-made Global Warming, as long as they were being taught ALL aspects of this theory, including an objective discussion on the dissenting viewpoint.”
I would add to that: they must teach the fact that there were scientists who conspired to make the temps warmer so their research $$ and their elevated academic positions would continue. (I read all of those emails).
Agreed. I was writing quickly, but when I say “objective”, I mean just that: all the dirt, everything.
It’d be like discussing the history of U.S. presidential scandals without talking about Teapot Dome, or Monica.
But they won’t do ANY of it: they have a bias, and they mean to exploit it to the fullest.
“It’s for the children”, don’t you know…
Funny, isn’t it? This is “for the children”, but when you mention the impact of reckless, unbridled spending and future debt on “the children”, they suddenly become LESS important.
This is why they so rarely teach ‘Logic’ as a class in schools anymore.
They can’t.
Exactly. But that material would be considered offensive, somehow; this from the people who show elementary children pornographic videos as “sex education” tools. Sickos.
well they say that truth is stranger than fiction, and the truth about public school curricula is certainly that. Looks like private school all the way for my boys in a couple of years (now, how to pay for it…)
The march continues unabated.
