DUMB & DUMBER: Colorado legislators Ulaberri and Salazar offer “alternatives” to having a gun.

Anytime that someone says the Left is so good at messaging, I laugh. They’re even more hapless than the GOP can sometimes be. The difference is that when the Left says something dumb, their media friends don’t repeat it. Ever.

And as if by request, the Rocky Mountain state decided to give us TWO examples which will never, ever appear on the NBC Nightly News. Here’s the first one:

Yes!! You don’t require a gun, because if someone tries to hurt you, you always have the option of whipping out your trusty PaperMate® pen to fend off your attacker.

Maybe Democratic State Senator Ulaberri thinks that’s what they meant in the old westerns when someone said “Draw”…?

And as bad as that was, this next one is possibly even worse.  

You may have seen the video featuring Colorado state Rep. Joe Salazar saying the following about not wanting women to be allowed concealed carry permits on college campuses, because they’re not necessary. Wait ’til you hear why.

“It’s why we have call boxes, it’s why we have safe zones, it’s why we have the whistles. Because you just don’t know who you’re gonna be shooting at.

And you don’t know if you feel like you’re gonna be raped, or if you feel like someone’s been following you around or if you feel like you’re in trouble when you may actually not be, that you pop out that gun and you pop … pop around at somebody.”

As I said to Mr G last night, I assume that the call boxes and whistles at his college must line the hallways, classrooms and sidewalks every couple of feet, like luminaria. And even then this would qualify as one of the dumbest statements of the year.

Oh, wait — this guy is an anti-gun Progressive, right? Well in that case, he holds the correct ideology, so never mind.

And lest your forget, we highlighted the Federal Government’s creation of THIS fiasco last year, in one of their training programs:

U.S. Border Patrol Agents, along with others under the authority of the DHS and President Obama, are being told to “run and hide” if they encounter a shooter like the one Democratic Rep Gabrielle Giffords did, according to Fox News.  

…the latest DHS computer course, known as “IS-907-Active Shooter: What You Can Do”, is telling all federal employees (not just the civilians) that if they encounter workplace violence, like the gunmen who shot Rep. Giffords, that they are to evacuate, hide out—and as a very, very, last resort, ….maybe take action.

So, no worries! You don’t need your silly ol’ guns, you Bitter Clingers! You have whistles (perhaps a local dog will come to your rescue?), “Safe Zones” (you should probably never leave them, actually), ballpoint pens (just click them “menacingly” at your assailant), and of course, you can always just run-and-hide (good luck with that one).

Got all that? And if something ‘unfortunate’ should happen to you, you can take comfort in knowing that our fearless leaders in the Federal Government will consider naming their next gun ban law after you, or may even invite your widow/widower to sit near them during a televised speech.
