Obama, Binders, and a failure of Leadership

This is leadership?

I won’t go into the whole “Binder” silliness which the Left is pushing, since it is just that: silliness. Ed over at HotAir put it into context, giving credit to Mark Halperin for “being one of the very few journalists that spoke out about Barack Obama’s lack of a second-term agenda or much substance at all after the debate on Tuesday night.”

We have exploding debt, ambassadors being murdered, no actual budgets having been passed in years, ‘Taxmageddon’ on the horizon, record unemployment for his entire 1st term, …and all Obama can do is make juvenile “Binder” jokes?

If it wasn’t so tragic, it’d be comical.

News flash to the President: what we really need to be concerned with is THIS (from Breitbart.com):

Weekly applications for U.S. unemployment benefits jumped 46,000 last week to a seasonally adjusted 388,000, the highest in four months.

What else is there?

Agreed, Benghazi is horrific and we need something other than dissembling and semantics from President “Al Qaeda is on the run” Obama. We have a multitude of items to fix, both foreign and domestic, but if our folks don’t have jobs, …real jobs, …we simply can’t fix anything else.

So, Mr. President, are you going to continue to keep throwing mindless distraction upon distraction in front of the American people, or are you going to finally, once and for all, hold yourself to the standard you set four years ago?

“You know, a year from now, I think people are going to see that we’re starting to make some progress but there is still going to be some pain out there. If I don’t have this done in three years, then there’s going to be a one-term proposition.”

Yeah, …I think we all know the answer to that question.

Since President Binder wants this to be the conversation of the day, okay, …I’ll play along:

  1. No agenda.
No positive record to run on.
No specifics for the next four years.
Devastation in all sectors (except the public one)

I shudder to think where we’d be IF he HAD accomplished everything he wanted to in the first couple of years. Heck, even some DEMOCRATS were terrified of what they were seeing.

Hope and Change in 2012 means we all HOPE for a CHANGE in the presidency.

Obama has a job waiting as Secretary General at the U.N. They seem to reward flowery speech, corruption, and support of dictatorships.

    • The UN should already have his résumé on file….

    • The distraction of the day.

I have a lot of trouble with the idea that almost half of the citizens of our country fall for this garbage. Can they all be so superficial and unthinking? That’s what the polls say.

      How did we get here?

Really good post, JustTurnRight! Love the empty binder!

      • Thanks, tannngl!

No answer for how we got here. Or, maybe, I have a bunch of answers, but I can’t point to just one thing. One thing’s for sure: we’ll have to work & pray harder than ever in order to get OUT of it.

As for the binder: the GOP came up with it, Stix found it, and I “stole” it.
        😉
It is wonderfully apt, I agree.

  2. I bet “South Park” had a binder episode all set up but had to trash it because the democrats actually ran with it…

Ten bucks said it would have had Sally Struthers and Cheesy Poofs somewhere in the story line. We’ll need to figure out WHO could play “Starvin’ Marvin”………

    • Mister Twitter strikes again!
      And yet, very true, Hatfield.

Yes, we’ve reached the point in our political discourse when our ACTUAL political ads and our SATIRE pieces have become indistinguishable from one another.
      Thanks for the “Change”, Barack…

  3. You almost want to ignore this one, because it is soooo…. petty. It just goes to show how mean, childish, and desperately cunning they are (while attempting to dodge the real issues). When will the stupidity end? On inauguration day, I hope.

I have to add, if you’re the type of person who gets swayed by this silly binder-bunk, please, stop and ask yourself: what kind of intelligence are they trying to appeal to? If that’s your intelligence, then ask yourself another question: am I really that lame that I’m not even insulted by this?

But turn about’s fair play. I LIKE the empty binder, by the way! Ironically, this one actually has content.

“……ask yourself another question: am I really that lame that I’m not even insulted by this?

All I can say is: W-O-W!!! Best line I’ve heard in a LONG TIME!

      Rock on, James!

    • I have to agree w/ Pgh, James. I almost snorted coffee out my nose when I read that “Am I really that lame…” line.

      TOO funny!

  4. This just in from Butthead: “Uh…huh huh…uh…Romney said “binder”…huh huh…” more at 6!

  5. You almost could have figured the left would run with the binder issue, their fake war on women. In the end they are trying to appeal to those who are swayed by 30 second ads, talking points and emotion. Why do you think they use the race card, war on women and on down the line? They know their base well and substance isn’t relevant.

    • Based on what I’ve been seeing on Twitter today, Blaine, you’re right, at least as far as their core constituency is concerned.

I’m still confident that the American people are smart enough (or enough of them are, at least) to see the truth before them and throw this bum out.

Keep spreading the word, bud. Keep spreading the word.

Too bad the MSM doesn’t cover the “War on Women” authored by Obama:

    1. Soccer moms filling up the minivan at $4+ per gallon.
    2. Increased cost of the family’s grocery’s.
    3. Median family income DOWN forcing many stay-at-home moms to look for some level of employment outside the home.
    4. No level of employment opps outside the home…

Do we REALLY need to go on?

    • No, you can only be against any official “aggrieved group” if you don’t have a “D” after your name.
But if you are a Conservative/Republican? Oh, no, then you want to put women in the kitchen, blacks back in chains, and steal everyone’s money.

      Yeah, ‘lofty idealism’ it’s not.
