(VIDEO) – Obama yet again fails to answer question of Benghazi Security

From Revealing Politics:

Last night, during the second Presidential debate, President Obama and Mitt Romney engaged in one of the most heated exchanges of the campaign yet.  When asked by an audience member about the lack of enhanced security in Benghazi prior to the attack on the Libyan embassy, President Obama stammered through a lame response that ultimately failed to address the question.

When Romney attempted to address the President’s inconsistencies in his excuse making, the moderator managed to forget her position and came to the aid of the President.

It’s not like this is a complicated question. Actually, if either of my two sons avoided a question to this degree, I’d automatically assume they were guilty of whatever I asked.

Now THERE’s a thought…

UPDATE: Over at HotAir.com, Allahpundit weighs in on this:

The deep scandal is sending a U.S. ambassador into a jihadi hive protected by a skeleton crew of possibly treacherous locals supervised by a notably inexperienced contractor. Stevens was a sitting duck. And the next time the Unicorn Prince feigns outrage by claiming it’s “offensive” to accuse him of playing politics with what happened, Romney had very well better point that out.

On the offensiveness scale, leaving the U.S. ambassador to suffocate to death while jihadi degenerates overrun his threadbare security detail ranks a wee bit higher than accusing Barack Obama of — gasp — focusing unduly on his own reelection.

  1. I honestly don’t know what all the hub bub is over this incident in Libya. It is clear to me that Obama and team are simply putting the interest of national security ahead of partisan politics.

I’m just curious how misrepresenting this debacle as “response to a YouTube video” is anything OTHER than partisan politics, especially given the administration’s “Al Queda is dead” position. (In case anyone hasn’t heard: Obama killed Bin Laden, and thus, Al Queda is “no more”.) An actual, planned terrorist attack on the embassy BY Al Queda would CERTAINLY put their position in, shall we say….a QUESTIONABLE state of credibility?

“Concern” over national security would have been LISTENING to the requests for added security in light of the MULTITUDE of terrorist activity going on in the region, and actually PROVIDING that security. But, if you’re trying to convince the American people that YOU are the great destroyer of Al Queda, it becomes harder to acknowledge WHY you need to “beef up” security. And…….FOUR Americans lose their lives due to political posturing. Blaming a months-old video instead of taking responsibility is not only partisan, it’s cowardly.

  3. The President’s body language in that video is just chilling (and so is the bloody hand flag). Great post, JTR!

    • Thanks, James!

Wish I could take credit for the graphics, too, but I count on the talented folks on the web to have something I like, somewhere. I failed finger-painting, as I recall.

And yes, Obama is creepily cold in that clip.
      Captures him nicely, I think….

If you haven’t seen it yet, I hope you can take a look at the interview Greta Van Susteren did with Senator Graham…..

A big THANK YOU to Mr. Zero and Crowley for putting this issue FRONT and CENTER for Monday night……

    • I’ll go look at it in a bit, Pgh.

Just remember, though: we were told the world would love us 4 years ago.
If this is love, I want to go back to them hating us…

Sorry, should have told you it was from her show, “On The Record”, last night, Weds, 10/17.

The whole “Bin Laden is dead, and Al Queda is ‘on the run'” seems to have hit a snag. Was watching speeches of the Zero’s from last week and then yesterday…EVERYTHING is the same except for now, he just says “Bin Laden is dead”, and “Al Queda is on the run” has MYSTERIOUSLY disappeared.

        Go figure……
