Is it any wonder we have a stagnant economy, with our State and Federal Government investing in so MUCH, yet so POORLY?

  1. This kind of thing makes me want to vomit, especially with Obama running around the country saying, We need to invest more.”

      I’m with you, John.
Investment is a private sector function only.

I’ll actually amend my statement above.
Governments CAN’T invest: they can only spend.

Normally, a company’s investors and Board of Directors would remove a CEO who spent so recklessly, and would withhold funding for projects that have a negative R.O.I. Unfortunately for us, our Country’s CEO can keep writing checks (from an overdrawn bank account) and simply confiscate funds from that 51% of those who still are so stupid as to be paying taxes.

  3. Kinda/sorta related to the energy topic in general given Obama’s well-known animosity toward coal and WV’s role as a leading coal mining state: did you see the story about the convict who got 40% of the vote in the Democrat primary against Obama?

Even the Washington Post can’t put a postivie spin on this one: http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-fix/post/why-felon-keith-judd-did-so-well-against-obama-in-west-virginia/2012/05/09/gIQA7GwtCU_blog.html.

Quote: “How did [convict Keith] Judd get so many votes?

“It’s likely not his past careers as a superhero and religious leader. Or his passionate FEC report ramblings. Simply put, West Virginia does not like Obama.”

West Virginia is pretty reliably Democratic. If 40% of voters in its Democrat primary vote for “someone else,” our Dear Reader is in trouble.

      Buckeye,
      Too funny.

FWIW, I had no idea our correctional institutions could be used as springboards into elected office.

Another first, courtesy of President ‘Present’!!

      • More often (but not nearly often enough with our present crop of “leaders”) it works the other way–they go from elected offfice to prison.

      • Also, this Judd guy had a career as a superhero? I’d like to know more about that little tidbit of info.

      • livinrightinpgh

Judd was a superhero along the lines of “Robin, The Boy Wonder”…as for “Barry, The Boy Prez”, we all know of his prowess in lowering the sea level, and reversing that “climate” thing known as “seasons”….

Clearly, NO comparison in their super powers.

          I don’t know, Pgh.

Obama is attempting to take over 1/6 of the economy with Obamacare, he took over the college loan industry, he has polarized over half of the electorate, AND he got a Republican voted into the US Sentate from Massachusetts.

That doesn’t sound like the work of a man without superpowers.

More like Lex Luthor, …with somewhat larger ears.

So, JTR, you’re suggesting that Ned Beatty will be playing the role of Joe Biden in the soon-to-be-made movie – written, produced, directed, and funded by George Clooney?
